Club Terms & Conditions & Ground Rules For 2026

New England Drum Runners Inc – Affiliate Ground Rules Approved by ABHA Board of Directors 23rd January 2026 1. Affiliate Details - Affiliate Name: New England Drum Runners Inc (NEDR) - Incorporated Association: Yes - Optional Club Membership Offered: Yes - Membership Required for End-of-Year/Series Awards: Yes Membership Fees: Open Membership: $30.00 Junior Open Membership (Under 18): $30.00 Junior Membership (Under 18): $20.00 Tiny Tots (7 & Under): $0.00 Family Membership: $60 includes: 2 adults & 2 children OR 1 adult (Open) & 3 children (Junior members). Under the NSW Sporting Constitution there is a clause where only 1 vote per family membership is to be used when a voting situation is called for. 2. Events Conducted Core Events: ● - Open Divisional (Junior Open members permitted) ● - Junior Divisional ● - 10 & Under – Unassisted ● - Tiny Tots – Non-competitive (7 & Under, assisted and unassisted) ● - Open Pole Bending (Junior Open members permitted) ● - Junior Pole Bending Additional Events: None Aged Events: Futurity & Maturity (ABHA ID required) Sidepots: None 3. End-of-Year / Series Awards Eligibility & Entry Fees: ● - Open Divisional: $35.00 (Junior Open competitors) ● - Junior Divisional: $25.00 ● - 10 & Under: $20.00 ● - Tiny Tots: $10.00 (no points; equal-value prizes) ● Late fee of $10 for entries submitted via email after the entry date closure. 4. Points System ABHA Points System: ● 1st – 5 points ● 2nd – 4 points ● 3rd – 3 points ● 4th – 2 points ● 5th – 1 point Additional Requirements: New England Drum Runners committee reserves the right to alter or change how many divisions and payouts will be done at any time throughout the event and or year. The 2026 NEDR committee’s decision is final. Competitor Behaviour/Disputes: There will be a ZERO tolerance of the following at any NEDR club events: - Abuse – verbal OR physical, bullying harassment or altercations at NEDR club events which involve competitors, judges, timekeepers, gate operators, committee members, volunteers and spectators. This includes the use of all platforms associated with social media and content that would relate to any NEDR club events. Disrespectful behaviour and bad language will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action or suspension. We ask that competitors or their associates not to approach any of the committee members with any queries or complaints whilst they are warming up/competing/assisting on the gate/timing/announcing or tending to their own horses/families. Complaints or queries must be submitted to the NEDR office via email - newenglandrumrunners@gmail.com with proof of $50 complaint/query fee within 30 minutes of event conclusion, with the exception of any immediate safety/health risks to competitors, spectators, or animals. Other: - Entry fees that have not been paid or paid after the event (unless prior arrangement to the NEDR committee via the email address provided above has been received BEFORE entries have closed) - Failure to follow any rules of the Bundarra Showground Trust. - Riding in the arena prior to the start of competition when specifically requested by the NEDR committee not to do so. - Once the course has been set, there should be no access to the arena for warm‐up or any other purpose. - Conduct of any member or their associates that can be classed as unbecoming or can negatively impact the NEDR club and the ABHA. This includes any such behaviour at the local hotel or store. End of year placings will be determined by a cumulative points system. Points will be awarded after each event. Points will accumulate from the date that both membership and membership payment have been received. Juniors who have paid a Junior/Open ABHA membership and an Open NEDR membership will be eligible for prizes in both the Open Division and Junior Division. Juniors not paying the Junior/Open ABHA membership may only be given points in the Junior Division. Points in all Open and Junior Divisions, 10 & under, Open and Junior Pole Bending will be awarded as per the current ABHA rule book. Tiny tots will not be awarded points, however they will ALL be presented with end-of-year prizes of the same value. Tie Breaker: In the event that there is a tie for either the overall title or any placings within each division there will be a countback of the year’s results for each competitor and this will determine the placings, (i.e.: most 1st places). 5. Horse & Rider Rules For Horse & Horse rider rules that NEDR will be using at our events please refer to the current ABHA rule book. This includes bullying and harassment of any kind, animal welfare. Alcohol consumption is to be limited and no underage drinking will be tolerated. Any juniors attending an NEDR event are to be accompanied/in care of a parent or legal guardian at all times. 6. Entry Fee Refund Policy Refund of Entry Fees: Refund of entry fees will be permitted due to cancellation of event due to inclement weather OR provision of vet/doctor certificate OR visual inspection from an NEDR committee member by way of photo or in person of either horse or rider showing injury or illness – within reason as we are NOT veterinarians. If a competitor has entered and paid entries prior to the draws being finalised a refund will be granted when the competition has been finished and payouts are being processed. 7. Arena & Venue Rules Failure to follow any rules of the Bundarra Showground Trust as dictated to competitors via the NEDR committee will be taken seriously and may result in a reprimand that is deemed suitable. All minors are to be in the care of a parent or legal guardian at all times as this is not New England Drum Runners’ responsibility. Ground Hire, Camping & Stables Fee: Due to the Showgrounds being a trust run facility there will be a $10 per competitor additional payment when entries are submitted (arena levy). (IF YOU ARE RIDING MORE THAN 1 HORSE ONLY 1 PAYMENT TO BE MADE). Camping fee is $20 for any site on the showgrounds – includes 1 stable, if more than 1 stable is required please pay extra $10 per night, per stable – this includes any of the fixed yards on the grounds. Electric fence/panel yards can be erected for those who don’t wish to use stables – there will still be the camping fee of $20 to be paid. All rubbish MUST be collected and placed in a bin provided. Should any camping area be left untidy a rubbish removal fee of $50 may be applied. Dogs: Dogs are allowed on the grounds, however, must be on a leash at all times regardless. Be mindful there are children on the grounds, so any savage dog is to be kept chained or contained at all times. 8. ABHA Compliance Statement All NEDR ground rules operate under the ABHA Constitution and Rule Book. In any inconsistency, the ABHA Rule Book prevails.
